The
Anne Proud Science Fiction & Fantasy Library
Darkstar's extensive library contains thousands of fiction and
non-fiction works within the science fiction and fantasy genres.
Additionally, our collection of such magazines as Fantasy &
Science Fiction and Astounding>reaches back to the early
1940's.
Our library is housed within our office
on the UCSD campus. See the afore-linked page for office hours and
directions.
Borrowing privileges are extended to Darkstar members (student & community members alike) and to students/staff of UCSD. If you're not a club member, it's easy to become one: just show up at one of our meetings every Thursday evening.
Our library is managed by a Library Committee which all club
members are welcome to join. Scroll down to the Getting
Involved section for more information.
Darkstar library is named after Anne Proud, a long-time Los
Angeles-area science fiction reader whose extensive collection formed
the nucleus of our library. We are grateful to her and her estate for
their generosity.

Get Involved with the Library!
If you'd like to help out with the library, please contact our library
committee mailing list at dslib@darkstar.ucsd.edu.
We hold semi-regular work parties where we sort, catalog, and shelve new
and returning books. We can always use extra help -- no experience is
necessary!
Committee meetings are held at 6:30pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, at
a restaurant near campus. Committee membership is open to all who wish to
participate, and committee meetings are announced in advance on our web
calendar and on the committee mailing list.
Consult the dslib
mailing list archive if you're interested in what the library committee
has been up to. See the dslib
mailing list page for instructions on joining the mailing list, if you're
so inclined.
